As killing DIO is the only way to save her, Jotaro uses his Stand to analyze Joseph's photographs of DIO, deducing his location in the Aswan region of Egypt from the faint image of a regional fly. Avdol realizes that Holy's Stand is slowly killing her, and estimates that she only has fifty days to live. The next day, Holy suddenly collapses in the kitchen, lacking the willpower to control her own awakening Stand. Determined to save Kakyoin, Jotaro uses his Stand's precision to remove the flesh bud from Kakyoin's brain, despite the bud's attempts to invade Jotaro’s body. Joseph reveals that the object on Kakyoin's forehead is a "flesh bud" with a tendril lodged in the young man's brain, influencing him into serving DIO.
